SA Hunters supports World Ranger Day, which is celebrated on 31 July every year. This year, Namakwa Branch treated the rangers to a fun shoot and a braai, and donated equipment to the Namaqua National Park to assist the rangers in their work.
As part of World Ranger Day, SA Hunters showed its appreciation for the dedication of rangers world-wide in conserving our wildlife heritage.
Rangers, of which some are SA Hunters’ members, often protect our wildlife under difficult circumstances and with limited resources. As part of our contribution to celebrate this day, our Namakwa Branch hosted 12 rangers and management from Namaqua National Park at Witklip Shooting Range. They had the opportunity to do their annual competency test on the range, while members of the branch prepared a lekker braai afterwards.
The opportunity was also used to donate much-needed equipment to the value of R80k to the park to assist these rangers in fulfilling their responsibilities. This forms part of our People for Parks Programme where we provide support to protected areas throughout the country to improve delivery on their mandate.
