Our conservation manager, Lizanne Nel, attended the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) WCG in Abu Dhabi in October 2025 as one of many sponsored delegates from Africa. She was there to ensure members’ voices are heard on the issues that matter most – conservation of wildlife habitats, ensuring science-based conservation decision-making, whilst also protecting responsible resource use and hunting’s contribution to conservation, food security and socio-economic development that improve the wellbeing of people. The IUCN Congress is one of the world’s largest and most democratic environmental decision-making forums where governments, civil society, local communities, scientists and youth from around the world engage on the interconnected biodiversity and climate crises, which are already seriously affecting people, the planet and wildlife.
