The 2025 National Lapua Challenge Championship was held on Saturday, 30 August 2025, at the Excalibur Shooting Range in Welkom, proudly hosted by SA Hunters’ Sandrivier-58 Branch. SA Hunters extends its gratitude to branch chairperson Poena Meintjies, André van Heerden, and their dedicated team for the professional way in which they organised and presented this prestigious event.

The championship marks the culmination of a year-long series of 22 competitions held at branches nationwide. Gold medal winners in each discipline earned the opportunity to compete at the national championship. The event is contested in benchrest format from shooting tables in both rimfire and centrefire categories, with divisions for men, women, juniors under 18, and veterans aged 65 and older.

SA Hunters further acknowledges Normark Africa for its generous sponsorship of R200,000, which supported both branch and national competitions throughout 2025 and made this championship possible.
