Bek-en-klouseer Augustus 2022

Die minister van Landbou, Grondhervorming en Landelike Ontwikkeling het op 16 Augustus beheermaatreëls afgekondig om die verspreiding van Bek-en-klouseer verder te beheer deur `n algehele verbod te plaas op die vervoer van beeste. Hierdie maatreëls sal voorlopig vir 21 dae geld, maar word weekliks hersien. Om dit makliker te maak vir lede is daar ook `n interpretasie van die regulasies hier beskikbaar.

Lede moet asseblief daarop let dat hoewel die aankondiging slegs op beeste van toepassing is, dit geensins die vervoer van wild en wildsvleis vrystel van die beperkings wat geplaas is op die beheergebiede vir Bek-en-klouseer in Limpopo en KwaZulu/Natal wat op 25 Mei 2022 afgekondig is nie. Dit bly van toepassing. Met `n kommerwekkende 122 verskillende diagnoses van die siekte sedert 13 Junie in ses provinsies, is dit vir seker `n saak wat dringende aandag verg. Die Direkteur van Veterinêre Dienste van Botswana het ook `n algehele verbod op die beweeg en vervoer van alle spleethoewige diere vir Botswana bekend gemaak. Dit verbied ook die vervoer van enige spleethoewige diere, vleis en rou dierlike produkte
