CapeNature Wildlife Forum

In onlangse gesprekke met die Wes-Kaapse premier Allan Winde, minister Anton Bredell, amptenare van CapeNature en ander lede van die wildlewe sektor, het SA Jagters versoek dat ‘n inklusiewe en verteenwoordigende Wildlewe Forum gestig word waar relevante lede van die sektor, op gereelde basis met die regering in gesprek kan tree rakende sake wat die sektor raak, insluitende die Biodiversiteitsekonomie Strategie van die Provinsie.


Tydens gesprekke, het CapeNature reeds ingestem om bepaalde toegewings te maak om permitaansoeke vir sekere spesies te verminder. Hieronder is een van die toegewings waarop ooreengekom is:
In terme van afdeling 80 van die Ordonnansie, kan daar nou aansoek gedoen word vir vrystelling van toekomstige permitte vir vervoer, verkoop, koop, skenk en/of ontvang van die onderstaande agt spesies, as deel van ‘n aansoek vir voldoende omheining, vervoer of aanhouding. Dit sal dus ‘n eenmalige aansoek wees en aansoekers kan vrygestel word van opeenvolgende permit aansoeke vir transaksies soos hierbo genoem, binne die Wes-Kaap. In en uitvoere na en van die Wes-Kaap is uitgesluit. Hernuwing van vrystellingspermitte moet egter steeds gedoen word. Wanneer aansoek gedoen word vir vrystelling, moet bewys van wettige oorsprong van elke spesie waarvoor vrystelling versoek word, verskaf word. Laasgenoemde sluit bestaande vrystelling- en/of vervoerpermitte in.


Voorbeeld: In kort sou dit beteken dat ‘n houer van ‘n wettige vrystellingspermit met enige van die gelyste spesies, nou sonder addisionele permitte, hierdie spesies kan vervoer na ‘n ander houer van ‘n vrystellingspermit waarop die betrokke spesies gelys is.
