Christmas Message 2023
December 2023
Dear colleagues
Everything in life has a beginning and an end. We are approaching the beginning of the Christmas season and the end of 2023. We experience the excitement of the upcoming festive season accompanied by decorations in our homes and the shops; the thrill of preparing for the visits of our loved ones and friends; and shopping for festive meals and gifts. Fortunately, we have already received the greatest gift there is: the love and grace of our heavenly Father. This love that surpasses all understanding cannot be taken away from us. It is a gift that we cannot buy. We can just accept it with humility, sincerity, and gratitude.
The true meaning of Christmas is more than exchanging and opening gifts. It is about opening our hearts to each other. May this Christmas be a celebration of hope. May God’s presence fill our hearts with joy and happiness. I wish our members and their loved ones a wonderful and blessed Christmas.
At midnight on 31 December 2023, the year comes to an end, and 2024 begins. For this new year, I wish you a popular saying in Afrikaans: Mooi loop! For me, it has a special meaning, such as: watch where you are going, don’t get hurt, do not let others harm you, walk upright and with pride, travel with a purpose in mind, I carry you in my heart, or you are special to me.
Therefore, for your journey in 2024, I say, MOOI LOOP! May God’s love illuminate your path.
Best wishes, Basie Bergh
