SA Hunters will host a webinar on Tuesday, 27 May 2025 at 18:00 about junior development at SA Hunters branches. On page 46 of the May edition of SA JAGTER/HUNTER, there is an article about the Springbok branch’s successful project to involve juniors in shooting activities at schools, and the branch’s well-known owl conservation project, Project Grootoog. During the webinar, Deon Neu, the project coordinator, will also provide information about the owl project. Members of branch management committees – especially those involved with juniors and shooting matters – and other interested members are welcome to join the webinar.

As you already know, André van der Merwe (Manager: Membership, Branch, and Shooting Affairs) will be retiring at the end of November 2025. During the Board Meeting of SAHGCA held on 8 May 2025, the Board decided to amend certain internal job requirements to create a position for Assistant Shooting Affairs. Due to the tremendous growth in shooting activities within the association, the need for such a position has arisen to manage shooting affairs efficiently.

Members with dedicated hunter or sport shooter status have six months left to participate in and record the required activities to retain their dedicated status. SA Hunters’ App makes it super easy and convenient to manage activities and to update records on the online member administration system. Do not get caught unawares.

To receive a notification, upload all your firearm licence details to your profile on the member administration system. Click here to register.
