The well-known F Class world champion, Erik Cortina, developed a unique format for the ghong shooting competition.

31 October is the deadline for reporting activities to retain dedicated status

SA Hunters reminds members with dedicated status that they have only until 31 October to attend and report activities to retain their dedicated status.

At this stage, 5,273 members with dedicated hunter status and 6,308 members with dedicated sport shooter status have not yet registered sufficient activities.

Dedicated Status Reports 2025

Members with dedicated hunter or sport shooter status have three months left to participate in and record the required activities to retain their dedicated status. SA Hunters’ App makes it super easy and convenient to manage activities and to update records on the online member administration system. Do not get caught unawares.

SA Hunters accepts any two of the following activities towards retaining dedicated hunter status:

Any hunting opportunity
Attending any official activity hosted by SA Hunters
Any other organised shooting activity where shottists sign an attendance register
Any private shooting exercise (informal shooting event)
Completed hunting report on the online member administration system
One reloading activity
Visit to HuntEx

Dedicated Sport Shooter (read more)

SA Hunters accept any three of the following activities to retain their dedicated sport shooter status:

Any official shooting activity of SA Hunters such as a branch shooting day (member’s branch or as a visitor at another branch), any regional or national shooting event.
Any shooting event at any other accredited sport shooting association
Any other organised shooting activity where shottists sign an attendance register at the shooting range.
Any private shooting event (Shooting event informal)
One duty assignment as a range officer
One reloading activity for shottists that reload
Attendance at HuntEx
