Nasionale Intertak Spanskietkompetisie: 17 Augustus 2019

Herewith the invitation to the Top 30 teams on attached regional ranking to the national Interbranch Team shooting competition at the  Meerkatgat shooting range of the Vrystaat Sandveld branch on Saturday, 17 August 2019. Congratulations to these teams, you qualified despite fierce competition during the past 6 months. An indication of the high standard in this competition is the following: in 2016 the total score for team no 30 was 2900.47, the 2019 score for team no 30 is 3110.49.

Underneath the registration form, programme of the day and the route map to the shooting range – the last day for registration is 9 August 2019. A friendly request to the branch chairpersons to inform me as soon as possible if a team from your branch are unable to participate in this competition, we would like to offer the opportunity to participate to the teams from position 31 on the ranking.

Registrations are done directly with the Vrystaat Sandveld branch – please forward your registration to bennie.vandermerwe@dcs.gov.za (chairman: Vrystaat Sandveld branch)

The Vrystaat Sandveld shooting range has been developed since 2017 as a national shooting range for SA Hunters. The one outstanding item is the firing line/shooting points and it was decided to finish it with precast concrete block paving to a slight incline at the 100, 200 en 300m shooting points at the 300 m shooting range and the 100m shooting point at the 100m shooting range. The funds to do this work was recently approved by the SA Hunters Board. It was decided not to do this work now but to delay it to after completion of the President shooting competition on 14 September 2019. It is very dry and construction work now on the shooting points together with heavy trucks and other equipment will potentially create very dusty conditions during the competition, for that reason the decision was made to do this work at a later stage.
