Namakwa-tak gesels bewaring met skoolkinders

Die Namakwa-tak betrek die hele gemeenskap en veral kinders by bewusmakingsveldtogte oor die bewaring van ons natuurlike omgewing in die Springbok-area. Dit is ʼn voortgesette inisiatief wat die ondersteuning van verskeie ander plaaslike owerhede geniet.

Die Namakwa-tak het hierdie maand weer ‘n groep Graad 3 leerders van Okiep Primêre Skool oor bewaring toegespreek. Karel Du Toit, bewaringskoördineerder van die tak, het klem gelê op die bewaring van ons natuurlike omgewing (plante, diere en die habitatte).

Gassprekers van die K9 honde-eenheid en Springbok se Bedreigde Spesie-eenheid het ook met die kinders gepraat wat veral die honde baie geniet het. Dit is belangrik dat kinders insig ontwikkel rakende die impak van stroping op hul eie natuurerfenis en geleenthede wat daarmee saamgaan. (Lizanne verskaf fotos)

Na afloop van verrigtinge het elke leerling ʼn verrassingspakkie ontvang en is hulle gevra om ‘n kort opstel oor hul bydrae tot bewaring te skryf. 96 leerders, sewe onderwysers en twee 2 lede van SAPD het deelgeneem. Die dag was ‘n groot sukses.
